The director admitted that he still wants to make a Rick and Morty movie.

Oh, c’mon, man. That was made into a film. In 1949.
I don’t know how I came up with a copy of that in college, before the World Wide Web, but I did, and I watched it several times. However, I have not watched the movie or read the book in a long time, and I used to read the book every couple of years and, in college, I watched the every couple of weeks. As much a function of how few videos I had as much as anything else.
But you cannot improve upon Gary Cooper. Although I expect “improve” is not what they would go for.
