My beautiful wife and I have started watching the first season of Cheers from 1982 since I recently re-discovered and unboxed it in the collection of books and videos I saved from when her mother downsized three years ago.
Last night, while watching the intro, I had a little epiphany.
The intro features a contemporaneous exterior shot that then changes into a montage of old photos and paintings from bars and similar locales in the past.
That then-contemporary exterior shot?
As far in the past as some of the old-timey photos would have been to the show in 1982.
