The gag? I was going to say that 9Round Fitness won out.
Except: It looks as though the 9Round in Springfield is no more (“Temporarily Closed” it says on Google Maps, but the 9Round Web site no longer lists a location in Springfield.
Maybe F45, which was almost across the street from 9Round, ate their lunches as it seems to be open. When it opened in like 2018, I thought F45 meant something political. Kind of like the new and always busy Burn Boot Camp by the Sam’s Club, the first thing in The Ridge development by the realtor who pulled his six-year-old from my little league team in a huff because he had big baseball plans for the lad and the four-year-olds on the team would keep the boy from The Show–sorry, I was not going on a list of all the successful realtors and real estate developers I know in Springfield cannot stand me, I was talking about Burn Boot Camp, and I was going to say: When I drove by signs pointing to it in the back of the empty lots, I thought it said “Bum Boot Camp.”
Given that the area had a couple of homeless encampments nearby, I wondered exactly what that was. Poor kerning is the answer.
