Oh, sure, I know you think I am cynical, but get a load of what some people say:
I have culled these quotes from some other newspapers, and some people seem to count
on the inability of their audiences to think clearly or they themselves have a
Reason deficiency:
And the abnormal shall be the norm...
"The boy next door has a silent crisis: He's desperate, lonely and confused
about his self-esteem. The line between the normal, healthy boy and the ones who
pick up a gun is much thinner than we would like to think. My question is, How come
more don't do it?"
William Pollack, a clinical psychologist at Harvard Medical
School and author of the book Real Boys: Rescuing Our Sons From the Myth of
Boyhood, commenting on Columbine High School. War is Peace. Opening fire on
fellows is a right-of-passage.

Pesky Civilian Personnel!
"I cannot explain the bodies seen on Serb TV. There is the possibility that
civilian-type vehicles were struck (by NATO aircraft) and there may have been civil
personnel harmed."
U.S. Air Force commander, commenting on NATO bombing a bus.
Where's William Lutz when you need him to thunk a military speaker?

As much a victim....
"He really is saddened by the fact that 11 people are dead. He has been made
out to be a bad guy, and that isn't true. He's as broken up about this as anyone,
and he's as much a victim as anyone."
Leonard Sacks, attorney for truck driver John Stokes, whose
truck full of steel happened to get in front of a passenger train in Illinois in March.
I sincerely doubt Stokes was as much a victim as one of the casualties. Source:
Chicago Tribune March 22 1999.
Oh, grow up!
"Look, I'm 66 years old, You were 56 years old just yesterday, and I just
think we're a little old for all this nonsense."
John Clark, husband to actress Lynn Redgrave, after she filed for divorce.
Seems Clark, while having an affair, fathered a child with a woman who later married
his son, making a rather interesting family tree when things came to light.
