{"id":949,"date":"2004-05-16T23:21:00","date_gmt":"2004-05-16T23:21:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/brianjnoggle.com\/blog\/?p=949"},"modified":"2018-08-13T18:32:04","modified_gmt":"2018-08-13T23:32:04","slug":"949","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/brianjnoggle.com\/blog\/2004\/05\/16\/949\/","title":{"rendered":"More Civil Rights Every Day"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The <i>St. Louis Post-Dispatch<\/i> approvingly <a href=\"http:\/\/www.stltoday.com\/stltoday\/news\/stories.nsf\/News\/St.+Louis+City+%2F+County\/D86ED23A4EA5D61386256E9500087B76?OpenDocument&#038;Headline=Mother+of+accused+serial+killer+sues+over+death+in+jail&#038;highlight=2%2Cmaury\" target=\"new\">reports<\/a>:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>The mother of accused serial killer Maury Travis, whose bizarre hanging death in the St. Louis County Justice Center was ruled a suicide, filed a suit Friday against the county, the architects who designed the jail and the contractors who built it.<\/p>\n<p>The federal suit by Sandra Travis Harden claims her son&#8217;s civil rights were violated by negligence and building flaws while he was supposed to be on a suicide watch after his arrest in June 2002 on federal charges involving two kidnappings.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Her boy killed himself, but his civil rights were violated because the government did not restrict him enough so that he could not kill himself.<\/p>\n<p>Don&#8217;t dwell on it too long, gentle reader, for it might cause your head to explode, and I don&#8217;t want to violate your civil rights by not preventing you from being informed.<\/p>\n<p>At which time, I guess, your survivors could sue my family, the makers of the components within my computer, my Internet Service Provider, blogger, and the company that built the comfortable chair in which I am sitting.
