{"id":6825,"date":"2003-05-19T19:17:00","date_gmt":"2003-05-20T00:17:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/brianjnoggle.com\/blog\/2003\/05\/19\/6825\/"},"modified":"2018-08-01T16:19:09","modified_gmt":"2018-08-01T21:19:09","slug":"6825","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/brianjnoggle.com\/blog\/2003\/05\/19\/6825\/","title":{"rendered":"Another Luddite Heard From"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Larry Blasko from AP has got a really nice <a href=\"http:\/\/www.washingtonpost.com\/wp-dyn\/articles\/A9463-2003May19.html\" target=\"new\">piece<\/a> in the <i>Washington Post<\/i> describing one of the best computer backup media <i>ever<\/i>: paper.<\/p>\n<p>I have worked on computers too long, both physically (<a href=\"http:\/\/www.comptia.org\/certification\/a\/default.asp\" target=\"new\">A+ certified<\/a>, donchaknow?) and on the software side to trust anything to the vagaries of technology.  I mean, some of the coolest short stories I ever wrote are safe enough, I think, on 5.25&#8243; floppies that fit into a Commodore 1571 disk drive.  But that&#8217;s no good if I cannot get to them.<\/p>\n<p>Until I am struck blind, though, I can read and retype paper copies.
