{"id":6278,"date":"2010-05-01T15:24:35","date_gmt":"2010-05-01T20:24:35","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/brianjnoggle.com\/blog\/?p=6278"},"modified":"2010-05-01T15:24:35","modified_gmt":"2010-05-01T20:24:35","slug":"gauche-or-not-it-keeps-the-sun-from-my-eyes","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/brianjnoggle.com\/blog\/2010\/05\/01\/gauche-or-not-it-keeps-the-sun-from-my-eyes\/","title":{"rendered":"Gauche or Not, It Keeps The Sun From My Eyes"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>So I managed to make it up to Wilson&#8217;s Creek National Battlefield last week, and as I alluded elsewhere, I bought myself a hat with a Confederate flag on it:<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\">\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/brianjnoggle.com\/bsgfx\/wilsonscreekhat.jpg\" width=\"425\" alt=\"Wilson's Creek National Battlefield hat\"><\/p>\n<p>I bought it to show my support for the park and because I wear hats to keep my balding head from burning when I pretend to work the land.<\/p>\n<p>However, I&#8217;m sort of stricken with the notion that it might be distasteful or odd, to say the least, to purchase a hat commemorating a battle.  Men fought and died for honor, state, and country on that battlefield, and I got a hat about it.<\/p>\n<p>Trivializing or commemorating?
