{"id":3956,"date":"2007-08-21T19:24:00","date_gmt":"2007-08-21T19:24:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/brianjnoggle.com\/blog\/?p=3956"},"modified":"2017-11-25T10:32:34","modified_gmt":"2017-11-25T16:32:34","slug":"town-councilchair-quarterbacks-go-three-and-out","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/brianjnoggle.com\/blog\/2007\/08\/21\/town-councilchair-quarterbacks-go-three-and-out\/","title":{"rendered":"Town Councilchair Quarterbacks Go Three And Out"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Sometimes when a municipality decides that its ideas about how to design and run the business are better than the business owner&#8217;s, the business owner <a href=\"http:\/\/www.jsonline.com\/story\/index.aspx?id=649504\" target=\"_new\">decides not to play<\/a>:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Menards has dropped plans to build a warehouse store at the east end of Grafton near the I-43 \/ Highway 60 interchange, saying village officials insisted on too many changes in the company&#8217;s plans, a Menards official said Monday.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We just went as far as we could go revising the plans, and finally we said it wasn&#8217;t worthwhile,&#8221; said Marv Prochaska, the company&#8217;s vice president of real estate. &#8220;At some point, you have to operate your business, and it was beyond the point where the deal made any sense.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;It was just numerous, numerous small things that all added up to way too much, and it just didn&#8217;t make any sense,&#8221; he said.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Look on the bright side, Grafton!
