The stories are very short–a couple of pages each–but: The stories are presented in column format in four different languages (Spanish, French, English, and German). So if you’re learning another language, you can try reading it in your new language and then compare to the English translation. The stories themselves are fairly simple in structure and tone, of course, to make it easier for you to comprehend the translations.

I would say that this might be the “book” I am most likely to re-read as I quiero practicar el Español–I am hearing strangers speak it a lot at my home these days–but I have thousands of other books to read, so I’ll probably bag this book and put it with other similar books on the shelves together (if I can reach them). Because although this book is only slightly younger than Nogglestead, it is falling apart a touch faster.

Apparently, Quinto Lingo was a periodical which ran from 1964-1980 to help people learn new languages (you can find a bunch of them on the Internet Archive). Probably better than Duolingo. Maybe even better than Babbel (I haven’t tried it). Which means this particular booklet, which does not have an issue/volume number, was a giveaway to subscribers. Which makes two such publications in a row that I have read.
