{"id":35522,"date":"2026-07-29T14:04:20","date_gmt":"2026-07-29T19:04:20","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/brianjnoggle.com\/blog\/?p=35522"},"modified":"2026-07-29T14:09:37","modified_gmt":"2026-07-29T19:09:37","slug":"this-probably-means-no-oldies-station-anyway","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/brianjnoggle.com\/blog\/2026\/07\/29\/this-probably-means-no-oldies-station-anyway\/","title":{"rendered":"This Probably Means No Oldies Station Anyway"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Half of my radio presets and the Worktunes country station will <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ozarksfirst.com\/news\/zimmer-midwest-family-merge\/\" target=\"_new\">be in one company<\/a>:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Two longtime radio companies are planning to combine their Springfield radio operations, if approved by federal regulators.<\/p>\n<p>Zimmer Communications and Mid-West Family announced Wednesday that Mid-West Family will merge its Springfield operations into Zimmer Communications, pending approval from the Federal Communications Commission (FCC).<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>The radio presets in the car include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Q92.9 (KQRA) (Mid-West Family<\/li>\n<li>98.7 The Dove (KTXR) (A service of Zimmer Communications)<\/li>\n<li>104.7 The Cave (KKLH) (Mid-West Family)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The radio station that the stereos in the house and the Worktunes radio for mowing is set to 105.1 The Bull (KOMG) (Mid-West Family).<\/p>\n<p>Ostensibly, the radio stations will no longer compete with one another, but aside from the overlap in the country stations (and it&#8217;s been a while since I listened to 101.3 Real Country to see how bro country it is), they probably won&#8217;t be adjusting the formats too much.
