{"id":32772,"date":"2024-06-04T08:23:18","date_gmt":"2024-06-04T13:23:18","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/brianjnoggle.com\/blog\/?p=32772"},"modified":"2024-06-03T12:52:01","modified_gmt":"2024-06-03T17:52:01","slug":"not-really-a-dilemma-for-brian-j","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/brianjnoggle.com\/blog\/2024\/06\/04\/not-really-a-dilemma-for-brian-j\/","title":{"rendered":"Not Really A Dilemma for Brian J."},"content":{"rendered":"<p>When cleaning the store room <a href=\"https:\/\/brianjnoggle.com\/blog\/2024\/05\/29\/for-the-wages-of-temporary-fastidiousness-is-dearth\/\" target=\"_new\" rel=\"noopener\">a week ago<\/a>, I came across a couple of New York newspapers:<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/brianjnoggle.com\/bsgfx\/nypapers.jpg\"><\/p>\n<p>I picked them up the <strike>last<\/strike> only time I was in New York, back before children.  I would say &#8220;<a href=\"https:\/\/brianjnoggle.com\/blog\/2005\/10\/02\/my-first-trip-to-new-york-short-version\/\" target=\"_new\" rel=\"noopener\">that one time the Hilton where you were staying caught fire<\/a>,&#8221; but I have been to other Hilton properties that have caught fire (and some other places as well) in the interim.<\/p>\n<p>So: What to do with these?<\/p>\n<p>I mean, they both have headlines about the Yankees winning in the playoffs or something, so I suppose they could be collectibles.  I suppose I could sell them on Ebay or try to.  Or I could just recycle them.  Or&#8230;.<\/p>\n<p>Well, part of the extended part of cleaning the store room was to bag up the collection of lad magazines I kept from my subscriptions in the early part of the century, when I was turning 30 and wanted the magazines to keep up with the latest bands, movies, and <em>it<\/em> girls.  The bin had room for these papers atop the magazines, so in they went.<\/p>\n<p>It really wasn&#8217;t much of a dilemma after all.  Although I am not sure why I am compelled to keep these two papers that mean nothing to anyone else and, ultimately, little to me.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>When cleaning the store room a week ago, I came across a couple of New York newspapers: I picked them up the last only time I was in New York, back before children.
