But an article on the moronic Mail Online website the other day had me choking on my cornflakes. <\/p>\n<p>It read: \u2018In 2020, Mandy Lieu, 38, bought 935-acre Ewhurst Park in Hampshire, once owned by the inventor of the wellington boot, the Duke of Wellington, and vowed to turn it into a world-class organic farm and nature reserve.\u2019 <\/p>\n<p>The inventor of the wellington boot!  <\/p>\n<p>Good grief, I know teaching of British history is nowadays outrageously skewed and bowdlerised, but I didn\u2019t realise things had got this bad.  <\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><em><a href=\"https:\/\/brianjnoggle.com\/blog\/2024\/01\/21\/book-report-sharpes-trafalgar-by-bernard-cornwell-2002\/\" target=\"_new\" rel=\"noopener\">Sharpe&#8217;s Trafalgar<\/a><\/em> only mentions the duke in passing.
