And after four years of participating, the categories are looking familiar.<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/brianjnoggle.com\/bsgfx\/winterreadingchallenge2024ad.jpg\"><\/p>\n<p>This year, we&#8217;re prompted to read:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Author of Different Race\/Religion Than Your Own<\/li>\n<li>Neurodivergent Character<\/li>\n<li>LGBTQ+ Character<\/li>\n<li>Outside Your Comfort Zone<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>In years past, we&#8217;ve already had:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>LGBTQ Author (2021)<\/li>\n<li>Native American Author (2021)<\/li>\n<li>Hispanic Author (2022)<\/li>\n<li>Character\/Author with a Disability (2022)<\/li>\n<li>About Mental Health (2022)<\/li>\n<li>Immigrant Perspective (2022)<\/li>\n<li>Author of Color (2023)<\/li>\n<li>Banned Book (2023)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>I mean, would it hurt the librarians to include a Shakespearean play in there sometime?<\/p>\n<p>I have the opportunity to start setting aside books that match the categories, but I am not sure what is outside my comfort zone.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>As I have mentioned, the library&#8217;s Bookends magazine has the list of categories for the 2024 Winter Reading Challenge.
