I’d fallen behind in my reading of First Things<\/em> so much that, on my vacation, I found myself reading an issue from May of 2016 (you guys back then will never guess what happens next!).<\/p>\n

In it, I found a poem about grandmother poetry (a genre, as you might recall, I read often–just search for grandma poetry<\/code><\/a> and grandmother poetry<\/code><\/a> for illustrations).<\/p>\n

The poem, “Your Grandmother’s Verse<\/a>” by Joseph S. Salemi, is spot on.<\/p>\n

After my vacation, I took a moment to re-subscribe to the magazine, which means I will probably spend more time in my parlor with the papers and magazines than in the downstairs chair with books. Which is kind of the case already.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
