{"id":28104,"date":"2021-04-27T07:19:00","date_gmt":"2021-04-27T12:19:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/brianjnoggle.com\/blog\/?p=28104"},"modified":"2021-04-26T17:28:26","modified_gmt":"2021-04-26T22:28:26","slug":"things-i-knew-already","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/brianjnoggle.com\/blog\/2021\/04\/27\/things-i-knew-already\/","title":{"rendered":"Things I Knew Already"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I should make this a series, but I guess I would have to already know more than one thing I read on the Internet to make it so.<\/p>\n<p>However, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.neatorama.com\/2021\/04\/24\/That-Time-We-Considered-Moving-the-US-Capital-to-St-Louis\/\" target=\"_new\" rel=\"noopener\">Neatorama<\/a> links to a Smithsonian article called <a href=\"https:\/\/www.smithsonianmag.com\/history\/ill-fated-idea-move-nations-capital-st-louis-180977569\/\" target=\"_new\" rel=\"noopener\">The Ill-Fated Idea to Move the Nation\u2019s Capital to St. Louis<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Of course I knew that; I read <a href=\"https:\/\/brianjnoggle.com\/blog\/2010\/09\/04\/book-report-it-happened-in-lemay-by-william-f-alden-1958-1970\/\" target=\"_new\" rel=\"noopener\"><em>It Happened In Lemay<\/em><\/a>.  The book review mentions the story in a sentence &#8220;Lemay was once considered for capital of the United States (story here).&#8221;  The sentence contains a dead link.  <\/p>\n<p>You know, I have been getting a lot of hits lately for that book report for an obscure comb-bound history book by the editor of a defunct local newspaper (<em>Naborhood Link News<\/em>), and I could not understand it.
