{"id":26298,"date":"2020-05-27T07:49:19","date_gmt":"2020-05-27T12:49:19","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/brianjnoggle.com\/blog\/?p=26298"},"modified":"2020-05-26T16:56:49","modified_gmt":"2020-05-26T21:56:49","slug":"not-a-fan","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/brianjnoggle.com\/blog\/2020\/05\/27\/not-a-fan\/","title":{"rendered":"Not A Fan"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>When I moved to the St. Louis area in the middle 1980s, when I introduced myself to the other children, they would invariably say &#8220;Like the taco?&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>So I won&#8217;t be ordering this shirt any time soon.<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/brianjnoggle.com\/bsgfx\/nauglestacos.jpg\"><\/p>\n<p>I mean, not only was I scarred for life when my last name was confused with that of the chain, but I was further traumatized in learning that the chain name was <a href=\"https:\/\/brianjnoggle.com\/blog\/2016\/03\/08\/book-report-ten-years-in-the-tub-by-nick-hornby-2013\/\" target=\"_new\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">misspelled in the Motley Cr\u00fce book <em>The Dirt<\/em><\/a> as my last name.  In a not exactly encouraging passage.<\/p>\n<p>Every couple years I see something about someone trying to revive the brand, and I think, <em>here we go again<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>Perhaps I should instead think people will ask, &#8220;Noggles?  Like the blogger?&#8221; instead.<\/p>\n<p>Oh, and Facebook?  Although I&#8217;ve bought a couple of t-shirts from ads on your site, I probably won&#8217;t buy any more since the one I ordered a month before my son&#8217;s birthday and took two months after I paid for it to ship (it&#8217;s actual arrival yet to be proven).
