Most of the time I do a &#8220;quiz&#8221; to humblebrag about how much great literature I read or how much of contemporary popular culture I do not consume.  <\/p>\n<p>However, the St. Louis Post-Dispatch has published a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.stltoday.com\/entertainment\/dining\/remember-the-floating-mcdonalds-heres-a-look-at-36-st-louis-restaurants-from-days-gone\/collection_aca78628-dbc2-5098-ae25-4bb7de15a122.html\" target=\"_new\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">list of 36 restaurants that have closed<\/a>, so I thought I&#8217;d list the ones I&#8217;ve been to.  Before they closed.  Which is unlike the <a href=\"https:\/\/brianjnoggle.com\/blog\/2007\/11\/23\/book-report-tales-from-the-coral-court-by-shellee-graham-2000\/\" target=\"_new\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Coral Courts Motel<\/a>, which a woman took me to after it had closed.<\/p>\n<p>At any rate, I&#8217;ve been to the ones in bold and think I might have been to the ones in italics:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Big Boy&#8217;s in Wright City<\/li>\n<li>Arcelia&#8217;s in St. Louis<\/li>\n<li>Beffa&#8217;s in St. Louis<\/li>\n<li>Busch&#8217;s Grove in Ladue<\/li>\n<li><strong>Casa Gallardo chain<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><em>Copia in St. Louis<\/em> (I worked downtown for a while, and I knew this was nearby, so I might have been)<\/li>\n<li>Dandy Inn in Fairview Heights<\/li>\n<li>The Diamonds Restaurant<\/li>\n<li><strong>Dohack&#8217;s in south St. Louis County, Festus<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>Dooley&#8217;s Ltd.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Duff&#8217;s in Central West End<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Fatted Calf in Clayton<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>Fischer&#8217;s in Belleville<\/li>\n<li>Flaming Pit<\/li>\n<li>Floating McDonald&#8217;s<\/li>\n<li>Forum Cafeteria, St. Louis<\/li>\n<li>Garavelli&#8217;s in south St. Louis<\/li>\n<li>Gian Peppe&#8217;s on The Hill<\/li>\n<li>The Green Parrot Inn<\/li>\n<li>Halls Ferry Inn in Florissant<\/li>\n<li><em>Jacks or Better, multiple locations<\/em> (it seems to me there was one on Lemay Ferry Road that I might have gone to with family before I actually lived in Lemay for a while)<\/li>\n<li>Kemoll&#8217;s in downtown St. Louis<\/li>\n<li>King Louie&#8217;s in St. Louis<\/li>\n<li>Kopperman&#8217;s Deli<\/li>\n<li>Lemmons in south St. Louis<\/li>\n<li>Lettuce Leaf in Clayton<\/li>\n<li>The Libertine in Clayton<\/li>\n<li>Miss Hullings in St. Louis<\/li>\n<li><strong>Noah&#8217;s Ark in St. Charles<\/strong> (at the very least, I attended a Pachyderms meeting there one evening&#8211;which is itself an interesting story)<\/li>\n<li>Ponticello&#8217;s in Spanish Lake<\/li>\n<li>The Parkmoor in Clayton<\/li>\n<li>Pelican&#8217;s in south St. Louis<\/li>\n<li>Pope&#8217;s Cafeteria, multiple locations<\/li>\n<li>Rossino&#8217;s in Central West End<\/li>\n<li>Romine&#8217;s in St. Louis<\/li>\n<li>Wainwrights in Belleville<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>You know, that&#8217;s not bad considering that some of them were not open for long, were not open when I was in that young adulthood where I went out to eat a lot, or were open outside the twentyish years I lived in the St. Louis area.<\/p>\n<p>I never did make it to the floating McDonald&#8217;s, though; trips to downtown St. Louis were very rare when I was young.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I know, I know.
