{"id":24912,"date":"2019-08-15T07:29:53","date_gmt":"2019-08-15T12:29:53","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/brianjnoggle.com\/blog\/?p=24912"},"modified":"2019-08-13T09:10:33","modified_gmt":"2019-08-13T14:10:33","slug":"one-asterisk-guarantee","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/brianjnoggle.com\/blog\/2019\/08\/15\/one-asterisk-guarantee\/","title":{"rendered":"One Asterisk Guarantee"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>So I was looking at the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thesmoothjazzcruise.com\/\" target=\"_new\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Smooth Jazz Cruise 2021<\/a> because Keiko Matsui lists the 2020 cruise on her <a href=\"http:\/\/www.keikomatsui.com\/tour_dates.php\" target=\"_new\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">tour dates page<\/a>, and my beautiful wife has been jonesing for a cruise for about a decade now.  Unfortunately, the 2020 cruise with Keiko Matsui is sold out, and she does not appear on the 2021 roster.<\/p>\n<p>But, Brian J., aren&#8217;t you more of a <a href=\"https:\/\/70000tons.com\/\" target=\"_new\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">70000 Tons of Metal cruise<\/a> kind of guy?  To be honest, they have not announced their 2020 music lineup yet, and I&#8217;ve already mentioned this as a possibility to Mrs. Noggle, and she was so hungry for a cruise that she entertained the possibility.<\/p>\n<p>But the Smooth Jazz 2021 Cruise includes a number of artists I wouldn&#8217;t mind seeing, including:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Cindy Bradley, whom I once labeled <a href=\"https:\/\/brianjnoggle.com\/blog\/2019\/03\/05\/brian-j-unbalanced\/\" target=\"_new\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">the second prettiest trumpeter in the world<\/a>:\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/FYR3I2-OX7Y\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><br \/>&nbsp;<\/li>\n<li>Vanessa Williams:\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/5EdmHSTwmWY\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><br \/>&nbsp;<\/li>\n<li>Candy Dulfer:\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/_5kKo2_2MzI\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>I recognize some of the other names, but I wouldn&#8217;t go out of my way to see them.<\/p>\n<p>Given the confluence of the aforementioned circumstances (wife wants a cruise, jazz acts I like to see are on the cruise), I clicked through to the pricing information, and I noted that, in addition to prices that made me go, &#8220;Erm,&#8221; we have this &#8220;guarantee&#8221;:<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/brianjnoggle.com\/bsgfx\/nofeeguarantee.jpg\"><\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s billed as a No Fee Guarantee, but it says it&#8217;s really only one fee of $350.<\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s been a while since I took a logic class, but one fee is the direct opposite of no fee.<\/p>\n<p>Ah, well.  It&#8217;s not as though I was really going to book this cruise.
