{"id":24873,"date":"2019-08-03T06:50:50","date_gmt":"2019-08-03T11:50:50","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/brianjnoggle.com\/blog\/?p=24873"},"modified":"2019-08-03T06:50:50","modified_gmt":"2019-08-03T11:50:50","slug":"as-though-she-were-a-normal-person-iii","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/brianjnoggle.com\/blog\/2019\/08\/03\/as-though-she-were-a-normal-person-iii\/","title":{"rendered":"As Though She Were A Normal Person (III)"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>As I have mentioned a time or two, I scan the local society pages because, as Springfield is a smaller city, I can often see people I know or know of on the pages of <em>417<\/em> or in the photo galleries of the <a href=\"https:\/\/news-leader.com\" target=\"_new\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><em>News-Leader<\/em><\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>And, to be honest, I started wondering when <em>we<\/em> would appear in those very galleries.<\/p>\n<p>I mean, we have attended charitable functions from time to time, although we haven&#8217;t been back to a mega-ticket capital G-gala since the Springfield Symphony Guild Debacle of 2015.  Even when <a href=\"https:\/\/brianjnoggle.com\/blog\/2018\/09\/11\/as-though-she-were-a-normal-person-ii\/\" target=\"_new\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">I see the society photographer<\/a>, he refuses to make eye contact.  Still, I expected at some point I would be able to <a href=\"https:\/\/brianjnoggle.com\/blog\/2008\/05\/02\/if-youre-going-to-be-on-the-society-page-put-down-the-beer\/\" target=\"_new\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">put down the beer<\/a> and smile with my arm candy.<\/p>\n<p>My beautiful wife has begun attending local business functions as she is a local business owner with a viable, proven software product on the market, and she is the first to the galleries with an image in the <em>Biz 417<\/em> gallery for the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.biz417.com\/biz-people-pics\/chamber-commerce-luncheon-2019\/\" target=\"_new\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Springfield Chamber of Commerce Luncheon 2019<\/a>:<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/brianjnoggle.com\/bsgfx\/heatherinbiz417.jpg\"><\/p>\n<p>Compare that photo to this one from <a href=\"http:\/\/angelweave.mu.nu\/archives\/007153.html\" target=\"_new\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">a recent book signing<\/a>:<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/brianjnoggle.com\/bsgfx\/bloghlnvp.jpg\"><\/p>\n<p>Of course, when you get to a certain age, sixteen years ago qualifies as recent.<\/p>\n<p>But it proves that she is an ageless beauty.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>As I have mentioned a time or two, I scan the local society pages because, as Springfield is a smaller city, I can often see people I know or know of on the pages of 417 or in the photo galleries of the News-Leader.
