{"id":24844,"date":"2019-07-28T08:32:46","date_gmt":"2019-07-28T13:32:46","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/brianjnoggle.com\/blog\/?p=24844"},"modified":"2019-07-26T09:41:20","modified_gmt":"2019-07-26T14:41:20","slug":"brian-fact-checks-country-music","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/brianjnoggle.com\/blog\/2019\/07\/28\/brian-fact-checks-country-music\/","title":{"rendered":"Brian Fact-Checks Country Music"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The other day, I found myself behind an International Harvester on Highway FF, and I thought of the Craig Morgan song.<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/ePjFAZKWKVo\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>This vehicle managed a speed of 15 mph along the state highway, but the song says:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Hoggin&#8217; up the road on my p-p-p-p-plower<br \/>\nChug a lug a luggin&#8217; 5 miles an hour<br \/>\nOn my International Harvester<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>However, this particular unit was a harvester, not a plower, so my experience does not counter the song.<\/p>\n<p>I do, however, wonder what the combine was doing down by us.  Most of the &#8220;crops&#8221; grown around here are hay.  I can&#8217;t think where we have a field of wheat or corn big enough to warrant a combine.<\/p>\n<p>Although perhaps that means I should get back into the habit of driving around exploring.  I did that a bunch when my children were really young; we&#8217;d hop into the car to go for a ride and just drive around.  Now that they&#8217;re older, we&#8217;re busy and don&#8217;t go driving around almost aimlessly.
