{"id":22010,"date":"2018-08-08T07:17:42","date_gmt":"2018-08-08T12:17:42","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/brianjnoggle.com\/blog\/?p=22010"},"modified":"2019-01-05T12:14:39","modified_gmt":"2019-01-05T18:14:39","slug":"gn-bn-comic-book-shop-edition","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/brianjnoggle.com\/blog\/2018\/08\/08\/gn-bn-comic-book-shop-edition\/","title":{"rendered":"GN\/BN, Comic Book Shop Edition"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Yesterday at the comic book shop, the guy behind the counter gave me a discount because I was always in there buying comics (and by &#8220;buying comics,&#8221; undoubtedly he meant, &#8220;helping him clear the deadwood out by buying the dollar comics that no one else wanted&#8221;).<\/p>\n<p>Good news, I got a discount.<\/p>\n<p>Bad news, apparently at almost fifty years old, I&#8217;m the type of frequent comic book shop customer that warrants a discount.<\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;ve had to start going to the comic book shop without my boys because whenever I take them by as a cover for my own comic book shopping, they&#8217;d complain even though I let them pick out something for themselves.  &#8220;Ugh, not another new comic book, Dad.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>I think about, from time to time, talking about the newer (2014-2016) independent titles I find in the dollar bins from imprints like Dynamite, Boom, Black Juice, and whatnot (I mean, aside from the <a href=\"https:\/\/brianjnoggle.com\/blog\/2018\/04\/17\/brian-j-goes-to-the-comic-shop\/\" target=\"_new\">occasional tidbit<\/a>, but I&#8217;m not sure how my regular readers (that&#8217;s you and you) would feel about it.
