{"id":2045,"date":"2005-03-13T22:20:00","date_gmt":"2005-03-13T22:20:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/brianjnoggle.com\/blog\/?p=2045"},"modified":"2018-07-08T05:10:33","modified_gmt":"2018-07-08T10:10:33","slug":"2045","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/brianjnoggle.com\/blog\/2005\/03\/13\/2045\/","title":{"rendered":"Missouri Citizens Have Too Much Power, Missouri Legislator Determines"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.stltoday.com\/stltoday\/neighborhoods\/stories.nsf\/news\/story\/A34FB22F63FD34C786256FBD0081190B?OpenDocument\" target=\"_new\">Bill would forbid \u2018harassing&#8217; requests for documents<\/a>:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>A bill introduced last month in the Missouri House would, if approved, allow government officials to reject so-called harassing requests for public documents.<\/p>\n<p>But a loose definition of the bill&#8217;s wording by government officials who process the requests could hurt even well-intentioned residents, some say.<\/p>\n<p>House Bill 391, the proposed change to Missouri&#8217;s Sunshine Law, would allow a public governmental body to refuse any &#8220;vexatious&#8221; request for documents.<\/p>\n<p>The bill defines a vexatious request as &#8220;any request for documents which is frivolous, repetitive or unreasonable and made for the primary purpose of harassing a public governmental body or any member of a governmental body.&#8221;<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>In other words, any requests by citizens who oppose the goings on on the government.<\/p>\n<ul><i>The bill&#8217;s sponsor, Shannon Cooper, R-Clinton, did not return repeated phone calls from the <\/i>Journal<i> for this story.<\/i><\/ul>\n<p>Of course not.
