Noggle, you illegal poem-sharing rabble<\/p>\n<p>One day I carved her name into a tree<br \/>\nwith mine inside a Cupid-arrowed heart.<br \/>\nWhen I had closed my knife, she checked my art,<br \/>\nand shook her head, and then she looked at me.<br \/>\n&#8220;Now why&#8217;d you come and maim this oak?&#8221; asked she.<br \/>\n&#8220;Here in the woods, it lived its life apart,<br \/>\nbut now the awful manly meddlings start.<br \/>\nThis tree will never have its privacy.&#8221;<br \/>\n&#8220;I maimed this oak so everyone could see<br \/>\nour names as linked for all Eternity,<br \/>\nand I must admit to you, my deified,<br \/>\nI like our love like this, objectified,<br \/>\nso that it&#8217;s not another petty &#8216;love&#8217;,<br \/>\nbut like a natural law passed from above.&#8221;<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><b>A Carved Tree (II)<\/b><br \/>\nAlso Copyright 1991 Brian J.
