{"id":1627,"date":"2004-10-17T16:49:00","date_gmt":"2004-10-17T16:49:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/brianjnoggle.com\/blog\/?p=1627"},"modified":"2018-07-31T08:13:52","modified_gmt":"2018-07-31T13:13:52","slug":"1627","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/brianjnoggle.com\/blog\/2004\/10\/17\/1627\/","title":{"rendered":"Always Check the ALT Tags"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>As a Web software tester, I always check the ALT tags of images and, much to the chagrin of the developers with whom I work, I frequently take issue with non-parallel text, misspellings, or grammatical errors in the text that displays when a user mouses over an image.<\/p>\n<p>Which is why you&#8217;ll never see <a href=\"http:\/\/story.news.yahoo.com\/news?tmpl=story2&#038;u=\/ap\/20041016\/ap_on_el_ho\/brf_e_mail_expletive\" target=\"_new\">this<\/a> in a site (or HTML-enabled e-mail) I&#8217;ve tested:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>A fund-raising e-mail from a Democratic congressional candidate contained a hidden expletive directed at his opponent, a newspaper reported Saturday.<\/p>\n<p>The expletive aimed at Republican Greg Walcher could be seen when recipients dragged their cursor over an image of John Salazar, who sent the e-mail to supporters Thursday seeking donations, The Denver Post reported. <\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Sheesh.
