Whenever I pick up a child sick from school with a questionable ailment, I like to take him somewhere that he doesn&#8217;t like to go to celebrate the partial day off school: namely, thrift stores and antique malls.<\/p>\n<p>Although his mother convinced the boy to gut out the day at school, we went to a couple of thrift stores after school to help cement the association in their minds.<\/p>\n<p>I got a couple albums.<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><a href=\"https:\/\/brianjnoggle.com\/bsgfx\/gah8.jpg\" target=\"_new\" rel=\"noopener\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/brianjnoggle.com\/bsgfx\/gah8.jpg\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Gleanings include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>James Galway, <em>Mozart: The Two Concertos<\/em><\/li>\n<li>Perry Como, <em>I Believe<\/em><\/li>\n<li>Time\/Life&#8217;s Great Men of Music boxed set for Prokofiev<\/li>\n<li><em>Pete Fountain and the New Orleans All Stars<\/em><\/li>\n<li><em>Pete Fountain&#8217;s New Orleans at Midnight<\/em><\/li>\n<li>Pete Fountain, <em>On Tour<\/em><\/li>\n<li>The Four Freshmen, <em>Got That Feelin&#8217;<\/em><\/li>\n<li><em>Unforgettable Dinah Washington<\/em><\/li>\n<li>Terry Gibbs and Bill Harris, <em>Woodchopper&#8217;s Ball<\/em><\/li>\n<li>Herb Alpert and the Tijuana Brass, <em>Greatest Hits<\/em>\n<li>Dave Brubeck Quartet, <em>Angel Eyes<\/em><\/li>\n<li>Maynard Ferguson, <em>New Vintage<\/em><\/li>\n<li><em>A Taste of Honey<\/em><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>I haven&#8217;t even finished listening to the albums I got <a href=\"https:\/\/brianjnoggle.com\/blog\/2016\/10\/30\/good-album-hunting-october-28-29-2016-the-friends-of-the-springfield-greene-county-library-book-sale\/\" target=\"_new\" rel=\"noopener\">last month<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>I need to spend some quality time in my parlor with my record player.<\/p>\n<p>Also note the boy is feeling better, or at least covering it better.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>On Tuesday, one of my children called from school to indicate that he was not feeling well.
