I know from past experience that the church&#8217;s sale has a small selection of books, so I bypass the majority of the items&#8211;clothing&#8211;and find a couple things to take home.<\/p>\n<p>So here&#8217;s what I got:<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/brianjnoggle.com\/bsgfx\/gbh106.jpg\"><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><em>A History of God<\/em> which looks to be a textbook covering Judaism, Christianity, and Islam.<br \/>&nbsp;<\/li>\n<li><em>The Arabs<\/em>, a history\/sociology\/anthropology of the Middle East.<br \/>&nbsp;<\/li>\n<li><em>Let the Hammer Down<\/em>, which might be a Christian inspirational humor book.  All I know is I bought it because the author&#8217;s name, Jerry Clower, is awfully like <a href=\"https:\/\/brianjnoggle.com\/blog\/2016\/01\/16\/book-report-life-is-simple-first-cutting-by-jerry-crownover-1998\/\" target=\"_new\">Jerry Crownover<\/a>.  I&#8217;m not kidding.  It doesn&#8217;t take much to convince me to buy a book.<br \/>&nbsp;<\/li>\n<li><em>Lone Survivor<\/em> by Marcus Lutrell.  It was fifty cents, kids.  I had to.<br \/>&nbsp;<\/li>\n<li><em>Fields of Fire<\/em>, a Vietnam novel by James Webb, the former Senator.<br \/>&nbsp;<\/li>\n<li>A picture book about <em>Forest Park<\/em> in case I happen to watch any football games this autumn.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>I also got two CDs: The Greatest Hits of Sawyer Brown for me and something by Michael W. Smith for the family.  I also picked up two films, <em>LA Confidential<\/em> on VHS and <em>Dazed and Confused<\/em> on DVD.<\/p>\n<p>I feel comfortable making all these purchases since I&#8217;ve already read 40% of the books <a href=\"https:\/\/brianjnoggle.com\/blog\/2016\/08\/05\/good-book-hunting-florida-2016\/\" target=\"_new\">I bought a week or so back in Florida<\/a>.  But as you know, gentle reader, the only time I&#8217;m uncomfortable buying books is when I&#8217;m carrying one or more fifty pound boxes of them at a book sale.
