{"id":1519,"date":"2004-09-30T04:07:00","date_gmt":"2004-09-30T04:07:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/brianjnoggle.com\/blog\/?p=1519"},"modified":"2018-08-01T07:54:15","modified_gmt":"2018-08-01T12:54:15","slug":"1519","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/brianjnoggle.com\/blog\/2004\/09\/30\/1519\/","title":{"rendered":"Tales from Psuedobabblerhood II"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The night&#8217;s second Gary Cooper film, 1931&#8217;s <a href=\"http:\/\/imdb.com\/title\/tt0021861\/\" target=\"_new\"><i>Fighting Caravans<\/i><\/a>, depicted a young (and by young, I mean a year younger than my present age) Gary Cooper as a young ne&#8217;er-do-well scout on the trail from Independence, Missouri, to Sacramento, California, as part of a large wagon train beset by Indians.<\/p>\n<p>Not too many comments, but:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/imdb.com\/name\/nm0198847\/\" target=\"_new\">Lili Damita<\/a> is way hotter than Helen Hayes, and I can even forgive the French accent since she wisened up and moved to America.  Also, at 5&#8242; 3&#8243;, she seems to have a couple of inches on Ms. Hayes, using the relative Cooper scale for comparison.\n<li>Like the cantankerous scout Bill Jackson, I too have grown quite fond of a <a href=\"http:\/\/angelweave.mu.nu\" target=\"_new\">Kickapoo girl<\/a>.<\/ul>\n<p>Still, as I delve more into these older films, I have to admit I prefer color films to black and white, unless they&#8217;ve been lovingly restored by gentle, adulating acolyte hands.  But that&#8217;s a matter of taste.<\/p>\n<p>Also, I hope that I am like Gary Cooper.  Although I am a stunning example of manhood in my thirties, I hope to get sexier as I near the midcentury mark and beyond.
