{"id":10849,"date":"2012-01-27T12:12:39","date_gmt":"2012-01-27T18:12:39","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/brianjnoggle.com\/blog\/?p=10849"},"modified":"2012-01-26T12:59:55","modified_gmt":"2012-01-26T18:59:55","slug":"thats-some-mighty-fine-print-you-got-there","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/brianjnoggle.com\/blog\/2012\/01\/27\/thats-some-mighty-fine-print-you-got-there\/","title":{"rendered":"That&#8217;s Some Mighty Fine Print You Got There"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A couple weeks ago, the NRA sent me a DVD for some sort of self-defense course, telling me that it was a free preview, and I could mail it back in the post paid envelope or I could pay them $30 in gold or silver dimes to keep it.<\/p>\n<p>Well, friends, as you might know, if some manufacturer or vendor sends you something unsolicited, that is a free gift to you, and you&#8217;re under no obligation to return it or to pay for it.<\/p>\n<p>As the NRA nag letter that looks a lot like an invoice <em>but can&#8217;t be an invoice<\/em> says:<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><a href=\"https:\/\/brianjnoggle.com\/bsgfx\/nracs.jpg\" target=\"_blank\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/brianjnoggle.com\/bsgfx\/nracs.jpg\" width=\"425\" alt=\"The NRA's fine print agrees with my laziness\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Although I&#8217;m not sure how the required text telling me I&#8217;m not obligated to pay for your widely cast net amounts to a &#8220;Service Guarantee.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Good on ya, NRA.  You&#8217;re stooping to the tricks of the Time-Warner media empire and trying to trick me out of money you don&#8217;t think you can get from me honestly.  Did I say &#8220;good&#8221;?
