Since Cori Dauber has commented on the fact that <a href=\"http:\/\/rantingprofs.typepad.com\/rantingprofs\/2004\/06\/demographic_upd.html\" target=\"new\">many journalists do not know anyone in the military<\/a>, I want to specifically thank those close to me who have served, including:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Raymond Noggle, my grandfather, USMC (purple heart on Okinawa).\n<li>Michael A. Noggle, my father, USMC (Vietnam-era service on Okinawa and in California).\n<li>Glenda L. Noggle, my mother, USMC (Vietnam-era service at El Toro, California).\n<li>Kevin M. Noggle, my brother, USMC (6 years because the recruiter promised him Recon&#8211;sucker!)\n<li>James Igert, my father-in-law, U.S. Air Force (Vietnam-era service).\n<li>Timothy Crowley, friend, U.S. Navy.\n<li>David Watkins, friend from college, U.S. Army (Ranger).\n<li>George &#8220;Jimmy&#8221; Niederriter, friend from high school, U.S. Army (Ranger).\n<li>Brian Mach, friend, National Guard.\n<\/ul>\n<p>Jeez, I hope I haven&#8217;t forgotten anyone.<\/p>\n<p>Gentlemen (and Mom), <i>thank you<\/i>.
